Our district should encourage teacher scholars to work beyond the district to connect and collaborate with educators from all over the world. I had the amazing opportunity to build a curriculum using under reported stories with teachers from all walks of life. The experience that I had was phenomenal and the knowledge acquired was priceless.
How are we supporting educators to go beyond the district to train, present< and collaborate?
I was recently awarded a teacher fellowship from the Foreign Policy Association to create a curriculum in collaboration with other teachers from around the United States. We will gather in New York this summer and I am so grateful for the opportunity to grow and explore.

Hi,
I am Deidra Wright a parent, teacher, minister, and community advocate. I have been working for culturally responsive education to be the norm in schools throughout Georgia for a long time.
I am ready to lead our district in innovative ways as we move out of the box to bring real change to benefit ALL students in District 3 and throughout DeKalb County.
