Inspiration...

I have been apart of the educational system for a long time. My mother, aunts, and great aunts were all educators and unfortunately they faced the same dilemmas within the education field 60 years ago as I am facing now.

Our students are failing and giving up on school because of an array of reasons and the lack of technical programs and rigor in college prep classes will cause students to disconnect and stray away and loose their zeal for education.

Something needs to change! And change starts by making sure you elect board members to hear you, and know education in order to effectively guide the superintendent. I am ready to be a hands on board member who is willing to work to ensure that All of the students who are typically ignored have a voice at the table to work for change.

On May 21st make the RIGHT Choice and VOTE WRIGHT for District 3!

Parent Voice

Community engagement is nothing new to me. Years ago while serving on the ministerial staff at Columbia Drive United Methodist Church I was led to host a community dinner and dialogue at the church in collaboration with a theater company and Decatur Dinners to address racism and heal in a open and safe space with people from all walks of life.

The community needs a seat at the table and that is why I would like to propose District Advisory Councils in DeKalb County that will allow all voices to be heard to help propel our district forward.  Read more about the dinner. Click here.....
